Valdis Vasiļevskis Appointed as the Chief Risk Officer

Today, the experienced financial professional Valdis Vasiļevskis assumes the role of Chief Risk Officer at Industra Bank. The former Chief Risk Officer, Toms Grīnbergs, has decided to pursue his career in another country.

Raivis Kakānis, Chairman of the Board of Industra Bank, emphasises that Toms has made a significant contribution to the bank’s transformation into what it is today: "Toms’ deep professional knowledge and pragmatic approach to work were complemented by his positive and collaborative personality. I am grateful to Toms for his contributions to the development of Industra Bank and the establishment of a well-thought-out risk culture, and I wish him success in his future career. At the same time, I am pleased to welcome Valdis to the bank’s team. Valdis has proven himself as an outstanding professional, having led financial and risk management in various private and public sector organisations for more than twenty years."

Valdis will be responsible for leading the bank's risk control functions, with the aim of maintaining a thoughtful risk culture to ensure Industra Bank's long-term profitability and risk mitigation.

Valdis holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the Banking Institution. His key strengths include leadership, strategy, risk management, and financial analysis.

The employment relationship between former Chief Risk Officer Toms Grīnbergs and Industra Bank ended on 30 August 2024.
