The Supervisory Council of the joint-stock company AS Industra Bank has elected Raivis Kakānis, who has proven himself as a top-level executive with considerable experience in the Baltic banking industry, the chairman of the Management Board of the bank.
Raivis Kakānis is expected to take up the new position in April, upon receipt of approval from the Financial and Capital Market Commission.
“The aim of Industra is to become the bank of the first choice in lending to small and medium-sized Latvian entrepreneurs. To become the bank that makes everything in a fast, simple and understandable way. My long-term experience in managing transformation in banks and organizations, as well as a good understanding of customer needs, will be instrumental in Industra's future development plans,” emphasizes Raivis Kakānis, the new head of the bank.
Prior to joining the Industra management team, Raivis Kakānis was the head of the Latvian branch of Danske Bank for more than 12 years. Earlier, he worked as Chairman of the Management Board of Sampo Banka in Latvia, but at the beginning of his career he gained valuable experience in various positions at Latvijas Krājbanka and the Latvian branch of Nordea Bank.
Raivis Kakānis holds a doctoral degree in economics, as well as completed a range of professional courses, having gained industry-relevant essential certificates, such as the ACI Diploma in Financial Market Management and the ICA Certificate in Anti-Money Laundering.
Solvita Deglava, who has served as the Chairman of the bank's Management Board since early 2019, will resign from her post on 4 April of this year.
The same as before, the Board members Jekaterina Meinharde and Ruta Amtmane will continue their work in the Management Board of Industra, representing business development, customer relationship management, legal issues and AML.
